Hi there and thanks for looking at my Hard Rock Cafe Collector page. My name is Julie and I am a 31 year old female from O'Fallon, MO - just west of St. Louis, The Gateway to the West. A little about me...I work as an Administrative Assistant for a company in Chesterfield and have been there for over 8 years. I also absolutely adore Taylor Hicks and got to meet him at his concert in St. Louis on March 21st, again in St. Louis on July 13th & August 25th in Pompano Beach, FL. Taylor & I - The Pageant, St. Louis - July 13th, 2007

Besides my addiction to Hard Rock Cafe, I also collect anything to do with Firefighting - I have been collecting Firefighting memorabilia for over 11 years now - I love it! I have also acquired some pieces from the 9-11 tragedy in memory of the 343 Firemen that passed away that day - so yes, of course I LOVE Firemen :) If you want to find me on eBay, my ID is i_love_firemen - how fitting! There is a 9-11 memorial in a really nice area called Winghaven right by where I live and it's actual steel from the World Trade Center after the towers came down - it really is a nice memorial and I am happy so many people continue to remember those lost on that tragic day. Most of you remember me when I only collected HRC shot glasses and had an extensive collection. Since then I have sold the majority of my shot glass collection and am now ONLY collecting standard 4 inch shot glasses from Cafe's that I have actually been to, as well as all of the HRH Vegas shot glasses and any pin/shot event shots. I am up to 45 Cafe's visited now and hopefully I will get to more! I also collect Pilsner glasses from only the locations that I have been to (after I drank the beer!), older style martini glasses and now mainly focus on any other unique and different glassware from any location as well.

I also collect a few pins as well - mainly all the pins from my local Cafe, St. Louis, since it opened in 1998 as well as any firefighting related pins and some others that have caught my eye over the years. I have met some very nice pin collectors and made some great friends along the way. Oh yeah, I also have some of the Herrington Bears, I mainly pick them up at different events I attend. Herrington does a GREAT job designing all the bears they make, I can't even begin to tell you just how many different bears they have made over the years.....I'm sure Glenda & Stephanie can tell you though!

I have attended 10 Pin events so far and 2 HRC Grand Openings! The pin events that I have attended so far are Pindemonium in LA/Hollywood & Newport Beach in Nov. 2002, Orlando Winter Carnival in Jan. 2003, St. Louis Pinaversary March 2003, Chicago Y-me in May 2003 & May 2004, St. Louis Gateway to Paradise in Oct. 2004, Las Vegas Pindex Sept. 2003 & 2004 and Las Vegas Pinsanity in 2005 & 2006. I have also attended 2 Grand Openings, the Detroit Cafe in November 2003 and the Louisville Cafe in May 2004 - Had a great time even if we did have to get in line hours early to wait in line for GO pins!! Each year, us shot collectors hold an annual shot glass collectors event at different cafe's all over the US. The first year & very 1st event was in Las Vegas in July, 2001. The 2nd Annual event was in Skydome & Toronto on July 20th & 21st, 2002, with a side roadtrip to Niagara Falls on July 19th. The 3rd Annual event was in San Francisco & Sacramento on June 20th and 21st, 2003, with a side trip to Lake Tahoe on June 21st/22nd. The 4th Annual event was in Austin & San Antonio on June 11th & 12th, 2004, along with a side trip to Dallas & our first annual Pre-Party in Joshua, TX. hosted by JoAnn Faucheux on June 2nd, 2004. The 5th Annual event was in Washington DC & Baltimore on June 3rd & 4th, 2005, with a side roadtrip to Atlantic City and Philadelphia, along with our second annual Pre-Party hosted by Floyd & Janice Terry (Herndon HRC :) on June 2nd, 2005. The 6th Annual event was held in Indianapolis & Louisville on June 2nd & 3rd, 2006, along with our THIRD annual Pre-Party in Mason, OH. hosted by Dick Pruden on June 1st, 2006. Our 7th Annual event, "A Shot at Mile High" was held June 23rd at the Denver Hard Rock Cafe. We didn't have any collectors there to host a pre-party so we just went to the ESPN Zone and partied there - since we were in a public place we had to behave ourselves :) PLEASE see all of the different links below to read wonderful stories and see lots of pictures from these awesome events!

On June 11th, 2003 a wonderful HRC shot glass & bear collector and a VERY good friend of mine, Richard Chaves Jr, passed away at his home in Honolulu, HI at the young age of 42. I knew Rich for many years and he was a wonderful man, he would do anything for his friends. At our shot event in San Antonio we held a charity raffle and auction for the American Heart Association in memory of Rich and raised $3,841.00 - in memory of a wonderful person & great friend.

IN MEMORY OF RICHARD CHAVES JR. 6/20/1960 - 6/11/2003

In September of 2004 I attended my 2nd Pindex event in Las Vegas - I think every year it just keeps getting better. This year was an absolute blast, it was great seeing many old friends as well as meeting new ones. Unfortunately there was a tragic end to this event this year, on Sept. 10th a wonderful pin collector and friend to MANY, Big Bernd Goebel from Germany, was tragically killed in a car accident on his way to a friend's house in Phoenix from Las Vegas. I had the honor of spending time with him the 5 days I was in Las Vegas and let me tell you, I will never forget Bernd, he was a wonderful person (even if he did keep making me drink ;-) and he will be deeply missed by all. IN MEMORY OF BIG BERND GOEBEL - 11/2/1962 - 9/10/2004

There was a special Hard Rock Cafe pin made in Stockholm in memory of Big Bernd with 100% of the proceeds going to his family. Vahe at Pincraft couldn't have designed a better pin! There was also a special International pin made in Bernd's memory for all of his German friends that shared a deep passion for 1.FCK soccer (and German beer I am sure!).
