St. Louis Gateway to Paradise Event -
October 15-16, 2004
The St. Louis Cafe, the Gateway to the West, held their first
exclusive Hard Rock Cafe HRCPCC Pin Event the weekend of October 15ht and
16th, 2004. That Friday night we kicked it off with a Hawaiian
themed party with lei's and the whole nine yards. Gave everyone a
chance to relax and have a few drinks before the trading started the next
day. Of course we had to have a Corona toast for Big Bernd, his
funeral happened to be that day so we had to toast the big guy to see him
off to Paradise. The Event shot glass was also sold on Friday night,
it was a dog wearing Hawaiian attire, how appropriate! Some good
friends of mine came in for the event, so it was great to see them as well
as some old and new faces. Bright and early Saturday I was at the
Cafe helping to set up and get people registered when they arrived, of
course the best bartender in the world, Bubba, was there so it's never a
dull moment when he's around - I mean heck, they made a pin of him and
there have been numerous articles about this crazy guy - if you ever come
to STL, make sure to ask for Bubba!! Thanks for the Tequila
shots Brian! We had a great turnout, people from all over the US
from California to Maryland! The Charity for this event was the APA
and they had 2 special pins made for it, along with the Paradise Guitar
event pin. All and all it was a wonderful event and I think everyone
enjoyed themselves.....even if my Cardinals lost to the Astros' in Game 4
- ARGHHHHHHH!!! :-)
